Mark Strong plays the "straight man" perfectly. His serious, gritty performance anchors the film, making Nobby’s antics feel even more ridiculous by comparison. The bond between the brothers is actually quite heartwarming beneath the filth, giving the movie a surprising amount of emotional weight by the end.
