The heroes rush to the location of the ritual. Callum, Rayla, Ezran, and the dragons fight desperately to stop the release. Despite their efforts, Claudia manages to unlock the prison. Aaravos is freed, taking physical form. He is a being of immense, terrifying power.
The final battle takes place at the Storm Spire. All the nations—Humans, Dragons, and Elves—unite under King Ezran. Callum, now a master of multiple Arcana (Sky and Ocean), realizes that the only way to stop a Star is with Time itself. He seeks the "Time Primal," an ancient and dangerous magic.
In the castle, two princes, stepbrothers Callum and Ezran, along with the Moonshadow Elf assassin Rayla (sent to kill Harrow in retribution), make a shocking discovery: the egg was not destroyed. It was stolen by Viren. Defying their king and their mission, the trio flees the castle, vowing to return the egg to its mother, the Dragon Queen Zubeia, in the magical land of Xadia to prevent the war. As they escape, King Harrow is killed by Moonshadow assassins, though not by Rayla's hand. On the run, the trio faces the perils of the wild. Callum, struggling with his lack of magical ability, connects with a Sky Arcanum cube—a relic passed down from his biological father. He eventually breaks the invisible barrier, becoming the first human in centuries to connect to a Primal Source (the Sky) without a conduit. He masters the "Fulminis" spell and begins his journey as a true mage.
