The MV Doña Paz, a Philippine-registered passenger ferry, collided with an oil tanker, MT Vector, on December 20, 1987. The accident occurred in the Tablas Strait, between the islands of Leyte and Samar, Philippines. Titanic 1997 Google Drive - 3.79.94.248
The collision caused a fire on board the tanker, which eventually spread to the ferry. The MV Doña Paz sank in about 30 minutes, taking with it an estimated 4,386 people, including passengers and crew. Only 24 people survived.
