Star Ocean: The Second Story R is arguably one of the best 2D HD-2D remakes ever made. It takes the 1998 PlayStation classic and modernizes it without stripping away the charm or depth of the original. If you enjoy JRPGs, sci-fi fantasy settings, or the "HD-2D" visual style (think Octopath Traveler ), this is an essential purchase. 1. The Visual Style The developers used a blend of 3D environments and 2D pixel-art characters that looks stunning. Unlike Octopath Traveler , which is often dark and gritty, this game is colorful, bright, and vibrant.
