Abstract This paper explores the thematic and narrative structure of Rapijali 2: Luka , the second installment in Leila S. Chudori’s Rapijali quartet. Focusing on the protagonist Rapijali’s journey from Italy to Paris, the analysis examines how the novel constructs a dichotomy between the search for paternal identity and the haunting persistence of historical trauma. By interrogating the protagonist's emotional isolation and his complex relationship with the mysterious figure of François, this paper argues that Luka serves as a critical bridge in the series, transforming a personal quest for family into a broader commentary on the Indonesian diaspora, displacement, and the inheritance of pain. 1.
