Abstract This paper provides a comprehensive technical overview of the KPACS Workstation, a historically popular DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) viewer often sought for its lightweight footprint and no-cost licensing in small-scale clinical environments. While search interest regarding "KPACS download" remains active due to its legacy status, this paper analyzes the software’s architecture, its viability in modern radiology workflows, and the critical security and interoperability risks associated with deploying legacy software in contemporary healthcare infrastructures.
