Leo plugged the microscope back in. The blue LED on the scope flickered to life. He launched the Imageview software. A small, pixelated window opened. For a second, it was just grey static. Sarah held her breath.
"You got it!" Sarah cheered.
Leo, the AP Biology teacher’s assistant, stared at the dust-covered box on the counter. It was an older "Imageview" digital microscope, a reliable workhorse that had been relegated to the back shelf after the department went wireless the previous year. But the wireless microscopes were dead, the chargers lost, and the only way to get the sunflower cells onto the projector for the judges was this old USB relic.
