It was 2:00 AM. The garage bay was cold, smelling of stale coffee and penetrating oil. Elias wasn't supposed to be working tonight, but the '86 Corolla in bay three—a pristine, mint-condition AE86 hatchback—was fighting him. Every bolt he turned seemed to strip; every part number he looked up in his modern, cloud-based software came back as "Discontinued" or "Warehouse Out of Stock."
The screen flickered. The modern Windows interface vanished, replaced by a jarring, blocky DOS prompt. The text was green on black.
